Whether you are an amateur or a pro, there are some things you need to check before you ride your motorcycle. It won’t take you very long to inspect the vehicle, and it will keep you safe. In addition to this, following this checklist will also help you spot any issues that you may have otherwise ignored. Use this checklist, if your motorcycle has been transported to you by nationwide car shipping services to ensure everything is in order.

1. Inspect Your Vehicle

At times, you may be able to notice issues in your motorcycle, simply by looking at it. You may be able to see leaks or failed fork seals. Is the coolant, or fuel dripping out? Have a quick look to ensure everything is in place.

2. Fresh Fuel

If you are pulling your motorcycle out to ride after a long winter, replace its fuel. Fuel can go stale, believe it or not, and replacing the fuel should be the first thing you do.

3. Change Oil

The oil filter and the oil should also be replaced before you take your motorcycle out for a ride. Over time, the oil will become black and gritty, which can also impact the performance of your vehicle. Changing the oil should be a common practice after every 7000 miles.

4. Inspect the Battery

Motorcycle batteries tend to die out faster due to the owner’s negligence. If you haven’t pulled out the battery before storing it, chances are your battery is already dead. And even if the battery is disconnected, it can still discharge slowly. Try charging the battery to see if it’s working. If it charges, you are good to go and if it doesn’t, you may need to purchase a new one.

5. Checking the Tires

You need to inspect the tires from the outside and inside to see if they are in working condition. Checking the pressure in your tires is necessary before you can take your motorcycle out on the road. If your tires are underinflated, they tend to get damaged easily, wear out faster, and even cause dangerous accidents.

6. Examine the Brake Pads

Making sure that your brakes are working properly is very important. A failed brake can cause severe accidents and be deadly to the driver and others.
